See how quality and value can be added to your home or workplace.

Described here briefly, are just a few of the many Decorative Enhancements that Creative Surfaces & Designs can offer to you:

  • Faux Finishes
  • Decorative Finishes
  • Murals
  • Decorative Concrete

Faux Finishes
A Faux Finish is technically any number of painting techniques which simulate an object or material found in nature such as wood, marble or stone. With Faux Finishes, we can create the look of: Marble • Suede • Granite • Leather • Wood • Stone • Patinated Copper & Bronze, Wrought Iron, and more. Faux Finishes can be applied to any surface: walls, ceilings, beams, floors, and more. We can change an existing surface not wanted into one that is more desirable, such as brass into rusted or wrought iron. Because of the inability to obtain certain rare or costly materials, the impracticality of their use, or the structure of a building prohibiting the actual use of the materials, Faux Finishing can be a welcome solution that creates the “look” of that particular material. How about those cheap plastic electrical plates or metal heater covers? Painting them to blend in and match that expensive granite or wood paneling on which they sit can vastly increase the perceived value of your home – not to mention the visual esthetics!

Here are some examples of our Faux Finishes. You can find more in the Portfolio.

Decorative Finishes
Simple wall glazing and simulated aged and distressed European-style wall surfaces, gold leafing, metallic patinas and custom painted or relief stenciling, painted and etched glass; these are just some of the techniques falling into this broad category. Using paint, pigments, plaster, metallic powders – the materials and tools are endless! This would be more aptly-named "Surface Embellishment." There are a myriad of possibilities for the use of these techniques in our contemporary environments and on its pieces, whose surfaces so often cry out for treatment in an original manner. In addition to the typical surfaces of walls, floors, millwork and ceilings, color and embellishment applied to furniture, cabinetry, lamps, glass and mirrors—just about any object you can think of—can enhance and help create that one-of-a-kind home of your dreams!

Here are some examples of our Surface Embellishments. You can find more in the Portfolio.

Murals
From a small addition of painted faeries hovering over your child’s bed to four walls and a ceiling enveloping you with vistas of the Tuscan Countryside, murals provide beauty and interest to your home and can transport you to another place and time. They transform your wall space into works of art and add depth and space to an otherwise bare area. A mural can be anything you imagine-from a garden pathway outlined with flowers, sunshine and butterflies to a serene ocean scene or mountain vista as viewed from your trompe l'oeil window. Or why not a favorite quote painted onto your wall? Anything is possible with paint. Any of our commissioned murals can be painted on canvas or material that can be shipped anywhere.

Here are some examples of recent murals. You can see more of them in the Portfolio.

Decorative Concrete
Creative Surfaces & Designs does not "pour" or "stamp" concrete. Our area of expertise is decoratively enhancing and embellishing your existing or newly poured concrete surfaces with color and/or pattern. Using reactive stains, water and solvent dyes, micro-toppings and overlayments in conjunction with saw-cut patterns or stencils, suddenly that plain grey utilitarian slab is turned into a personal statement of your taste and style.

Here are some examples of recent concrete projects. You can find more examples in the Portfolio.
